Ahead of the 60th
Anniversary of Turkey’s membership in NATO on 18
February 2012, YATA Turk, would like to launch a
university student essay competition to commemorate
Turkey’s membership in the Alliance. Universities all
across Turkey will be participating in the initiative.
The essay contest encourages Turkish university students
to express their ideas about Today’s NATO and Turkey’s
role within the Alliance. Students are invited to
provide a Turkish perspective on NATO’s transformation
from a cold-war political military alliance focused on
deterrence into a 21st century security organization
with a more comprehensive perspective on peace and
security based on NATO’s New Strategic Concept. They may
also develop ideas for NATO’s role and responsibilities
in the years ahead and reflect on Turkey’s role within
the Alliance.

27 Ocak 2012 - Evaluate all
papers.
30 Ocak 2012 - Clarify top ten
papers in webside and send them to NATO.
